Job Description

The Plant Manager leads, directs, facilitates, and optimizes all operations of the manufacturing plant in order to achieve business objectives. The Plant Manager develops and executes strategic plans aligned with business goals. The Plant Manager is accountable for all aspects of plant performance, with a focus on safety, quality, people, customer service, and performance. Through employee engagement, the Plant Manager focuses on performance improvement, cost reduction, product delivery, and customer service.

  • Facilitate quality and service improvements, as well as cost reduction, by developing and implementing robust manufacturing processes and best practices 
  • Develop and administer budget while improving conversion cost and reducing variances 
  • Ensure robust HSE and security procedures and training are in place, and the site is following compliance as required by legislation and corporate policy 
  • Mentor staff to optimize performance, drive results, and prepare for career development 
  • Lead and support programs that create a culture of respect, inclusion, and recognition
  • Communicate the company’s vision, values, and key results areas 
  • Manage plant equipment layouts and new equipment startups

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing ERP system driven environment
  • 5 years of experience in a supervisory or people management role

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 10 years of experience in a manufacturing ERP system driven environment
  • Experience with plant start-up’s and equipment layout
  • Evidence of successfully leading large scale projects
