Job Description

The role of the BlueScope North America Finance Department is to provide expert counsel to Senior Management and the North American businesses (BBNA, Steelscape/ASC JV, NorthStar BlueScope Steel, BlueScope Recycling and BlueScope Coated Products) in all finance matters.  This includes, but is not limited to: transactional services, data analysis, process improvements, report generation and communication with senior management.

The Sr. Accounting associate contributes by maintaining several journal entry processes, account reconciliations, intercompany processes with head office in Australia and all North America businesses, and month-end processes.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage intercompany accounting with Corporate office and US businesses
  • Journal entries for US expense allocation and communication with US businesses
  • Account Reconciliations
  • Month-End Reporting
  • Ad-hoc Projects

 

Qualifications

Minimum Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting
  • 3-5 years experience

Preferred Education & Experience Qualifications

  • Experience with a large ERP system, preferably Oracle
  • Power BI, Power Query, SQL
  • CPA Certification
  • MSA or MBA degree
  • Process improvement experience
