The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Battery Regulator in our Coke Plant 1 Operations team based in Port Kembla, NSW. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.
The Coke making process is an integral part of the manufacturing of Iron and Steel. Operating Coke Plant 1 relies on a skilled, specialised and motivated workforce that has a strong focus on Safety and the Environment.
This opportunity presents itself if you are someone who has the ability and willingness to learn, whilst able to take on process skills and knowledge to work with minimal supervision.
This role is a roster relief role where you will work a 38 hour week – working a 12 hour rotating day and night shift pattern, over a 7 day period.
What will you do?
This role will see you:
- monitoring and maintaining gas flow, pressure and delivery systems
- tracking and adjusting battery temperatures to ensure efficient operation
- collecting process data and responding to system variances
- undertaking routine cleaning and maintenance activities
- identifying and responding to hazards and abnormal conditions
- reporting incidents, events and changes using appropriate systems

You are a safety-focused and dependable team member who enjoys hands-on work in a heavy industrial environment.
You will bring:
- experience working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
- a strong commitment to safety and following procedures
- the ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- strong communication and teamwork skills
- a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Experience in working with gas related equipment and process is an advantage
