The Opportunity
Bluescope Building Components is looking for a Transport Scheduler to join the scheduling team based in Novar Gardens, Adelaide.
BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services.
Transport Schedulers are the pivotal in our success of delivery to customer — coordinating the delivery of our steel products across the state. In this permanent full-time role, you'll work closely with internal teams and our transport provider to ensure orders are delivered in full and on time, every time.
Your primary focus will be ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of products across our network. You’ll work with a wide range of variables — from product types and sizes to delivery routes and sequencing — to keep things running smoothly. As part of a collaborative team, you’ll also gain exposure to our transport fleet, production and customer service teams, helping to build a broader understanding of the full supply chain and stepping in to support when needed.
This is a hands-on, detail-oriented role that requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, and a practical, solutions-focused mindset. You’ll be at the centre of it all — playing a key role in delivering high-quality service to our customers and keeping our logistics operation moving with confidence.
What Will You Do?
You will support our business to ensure product is made and delivered on time to our valued customers. Quick to adapt and able to juggle multiple priorities at any given time, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and Coordination: oversee the planning, coordination and monitoring of daily transport needs to ensure delivery targets are met
- Stakeholder Liaison: liaise with internal and external transport stakeholders, as well as warehouses, to ensure timely delivery of goods to customer in an efficient manner
- Efficiency Optimisation: identify opportunities to consolidate orders within the transport schedule to achieve efficiencies
- Data Management: maintain internal databases and provide reporting on scheduling and transport capacities
- Problem Resolution: work with internal teams to resolve scheduling challenges
- Continuous Improvement: actively participate in various continuous improvement initiatives and performance-related discussions, focusing on practices to streamline and optimise transport activities of the business
- Policy and Procedure Support: provide support and guidance on policies, procedures, and projects where necessary.
