The Opportunity

BlueScope Building Components is looking for a Production Manager to join the Operations team based in Novar Gardens SA. BlueScope Building Components, a division of BlueScope in Australia, manufactures and markets steel building products, solutions and services through its four leading brands: Lysaght, Fielders, Ranbuild and Kiteleys.

As Production Manager, you’ll be a leader of leaders, responsible for coaching and developing frontline supervisors, fostering a culture of safety and accountability, and delivering operational excellence that supports our customers and communities.

What Will You Do?

In this key frontline leadership position, you’ll:

• build capability across teams through mentoring and development opportunities
• drive productivity and process improvement, using data and performance insights to achieve results
• lead with a customer-first mindset, ensuring planned delivery schedules are met and quality standards maintained
• collaborate across teams - including maintenance, scheduling, transport and sales—to optimise production efficiency and resolve challenges
• champion a safe, inclusive and high-performing workplace, where people are supported to do their best work
• model agility and innovation to drive continuous improvement in systems, processes and performance

You’re an experienced and people-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You balance strong operational know-how with a commitment to developing and engaging others whilst building capability and delivering for customers. You lead by example, with a focus on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will bring:

• a strong understanding of customer needs, with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
• extensive experience in production management - ideally within manufacturing or roll-forming coupled with a desire for long-term growth
• demonstrated ability to lead through change, driving improved productivity and operational efficiency
• a growth mindset, with a passion for continuous improvement and a willingness to take on new challenges
• a genuine commitment to safety, wellbeing and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
