How We Work Champion
- Full-time
Job Description
We are excited to launch the ASP-Wide ‘How We Work Champions’ (HWWC) program—a peer-led initiative designed to provide meaningful support to employees navigating work-related concerns.
As a HWWC, you will play an important role in fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace. Champions will act as an additional support resource for peers, offering guidance on available support services and reporting mechanisms, and helping individuals take informed steps towards resolving their concerns.
About the Role
HWWCs are non-people leaders nominated by peers who:
- Offer guidance on available reporting options
- Share relevant organisational policies
- Encourage informed, confident decision-making
- Help build a culture where employees feel safe to Speak Up
This is a voluntary role, and participation is based on your interest and availability.
What You Can Expect
- Training delivered by the Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC)
- An opportunity to strengthen your interpersonal and communication skills
- The chance to contribute to a more supportive, open environment by sharing information, removing barriers and encouraging others to ‘Speak Up’
- Ongoing support structures and networking opportunities to ensure you are well-equipped in the role
Key Dates and Next Steps
- Expressions of interest (EOI) are open now via SmartRecruiters
- Peer nomination process: When nominating a peer, ask yourself, ‘who within your team do you turn to when you need support?’
- To nominate a peer, use the "Refer a Friend" option on the job ad
- Please note, if you are nominated as part of the EOI process, you are not required to apply
- Visibility: HWWCs will be identified through posters, stickers, and email signatures
