The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our newly established BlueScope Distribution site at Unanderra NSW as a Programmer. The National Product, Processing & Solutions Hub is BlueScope Distribution’s new capability.  It enables us to provide our customers with a unique domestically co-coordinated supply chain solution for the delivery of large-scale projects.

As a valued member of our BlueScope Distribution business, you will play an important role in ensuring nesting and programming responsibilities are managed effectively and day-to-day internal sales enquiries are actioned to meet our customers’ needs now and for the future.

What Will You Do?

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, you will: 

  • generate estimates and quotes for processed goods from shop drawings, BOM and take-offs
  • provide advice to both customers and internal stakeholders on our processing capability and costs
  • manage thermal cutting processing requirements and ensure usage of all offcuts and batch plate to minimise waste and in turn maximise profitability
  • prepare and follow up customer quotes in a timely manner
  • liaise and work closely with the Supply Chain, Sales and Operations teams to maximise yield

More About You

You will have completed or are near to the completion of qualification in supply chain, engineering, fabrication or thermal cutting. With your Interest in technical drawing, you will bring: 

  • the ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • sound mathematical and numerical skills
  • exposure to nesting and programming with SigmaNest or any CAD/CAM software will be desirable but not essential as we can provide you with training
  • effective skills in prioritisation, time management, and attention to detail
  • a willingness and ability to work with broader teams and customers nationally
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment 
  • effective communication and interpersonal abilities
