The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Capital Development & Engineering Process Computing team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Digital Transformation Engineer. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

What Will You Do?

We are digitally transforming our business by applying AI/ML, Simulation, IoT, Cloud & Data technologies and require you to provide software development, integration and digital expertise help us drive the improvement of new and existing digital manufacturing systems across the ASP Manufacturing footprint.

You will develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with cross functional team members, including operations, asset, engineering, and IT teams.

You will:

  • develop software solutions to integrate digital transformation solutions with existing systems
  • contribute to digital transformation projects and tasks to provide maximum business benefit
  • support digital transformation and other process computing systems, including outside of normal business hours
  • provide digital transformation technical support to operations & asset stakeholders and projects

More About You

Excitingly, we have multiple positions available. Therefore, we are seeking applications from engineers with varied experience.

We are after critical thinkers with strong analytical skills, who have:

  • a degree qualification in Computer Science or Engineering (Computer, Telecommunications or Electrical), or similar relevant tertiary IT/ Engineering qualifications
  • strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • experience with software configuration, development and integration
