Job Description

Engineering team at Port Kembla Steelworks, one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Australia. The primary purpose of the role is to provide value adding expertise and continuous improvement to ASP Manufacturing through the application of your technical leadership, engineering and project management skills.

This position involves working with multi-disciplinary teams, focussing on electrical control and automation projects. In this position, you will provide a combination of both delivery of capital projects, and long-term asset development work.  You will be involved in developing modern solutions while improving manufacturing capability and efficiency.

You will have a keen interest in electrical engineering and control systems, working with strip process lines, automated guided vehicles, drives, robots, and automated cranes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a very experienced, hardworking team, as you work within one of the largest manufacturing facilities in Australia.  

Who are we looking for?

You will have demonstrated skills and knowledge in electrical engineering, control systems and instruments. You will also be skilled in problem solving, reliability improvement and project management.

You will also possess the following:

  • a degree qualification in electrical engineering;
  • have control system and automation experience with PLCs, HMIs, DCS & SCADA;
  • experience with low voltage (415Vac) distribution systems and motor control;
  • project management experience;
  • experience within a heavy industry, process role; and
  • strong technical and analytical capability, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
