Job Description

The Member Technical Services III role is a mid-level technical position with increased autonomy and expertise in network infrastructure and security. This individual will handle complex technical tasks across firewall, switching, server, and client systems. The role demands a strong understanding of client environments, proactive problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Independently support client networks, focusing on firewall, switching, and connectivity issues with limited supervision. 
  • Plan, configure, and maintain network security components including firewall rules, VPNs, and segmentation. 
  • Troubleshoot Windows workstation and server issues, including performance, Active Directory, and network-related problems. 
  • Experience with Fortinet and/or Sophos firewalls a plus. 
  • Experience with Aruba and/or Cisco switches a plus. 
  • Assist with advanced troubleshooting of client-facing applications and endpoint issues. 
  • Provide informal technical guidance to junior team members as needed. 
  • Create or contribute to technical documentation such as detailed as-built guides and configuration references. 
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to identify issues, provide solutions, and ensure satisfaction. 
  • Accurately maintain time entries, project statuses, and documentation in company systems. 

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in IT support or technical services roles. 
  • Deep understanding of networking concepts (routing, switching, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VLANs). 
  • Strong hands-on experience managing firewall environments. 
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Windows workstations. 
  • Ability to function with moderate direction and independently manage assigned tasks. 
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability to contribute to technical documentation and informal client briefings. 

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have): 

  • Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools. 
  • Certifications such as CCNA, Fortinet NSE, VCP, JNCIA, or similar. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
