Job Description
The Facilities Maintenance Lead position is accountable for supervising the daily activities of the electricians and HVAC technicians at the 5000 Davis Drive Drug Substance site. This position reports to the Sr Manager, Maintenance. The position will coordinate daily operations to meet preventive maintenance schedules and strategies for the electrical and HVAC systems and process equipment in full compliance with Quality, Safety and cGMP standards. This includes the management and leadership of direct staff, outsourced vendors, and contractors. The position will be responsible for managing the departments workload; providing technical training to the team; completing investigations, documentation and closure of quality processes through Track wise; and reviewing / approving / closing work performed by technician staff in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
What You’ll Do
- Provide supervision, direction, and guidance to the Electrical and HVAC staff.
- Coordinate the vendor and contractor activities that support the maintenance staff.
- Review / complete documentation associated with department responsibilities.
- Assist in completing investigations, troubleshooting, and implementing corrective actions.
- Recommend and implement changes to systems, processes, and maintenance in order to improve reliability, optimize labor utilization, cost savings and safety enhancements.
Who You Are
You are motivated and task driven with good communication skills. You are able to work with cross functional maintenance and manufacturing groups.
Qualifications
This work requires occasionally climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, moving/lifting test equipment up to 50 lbs. as well as working in clean spaces where gowning is required. Ability to stand for up to 3 hours at a time is also required.
- High school Diploma or GED.
- 8+ years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical / HVAC maintenance.
- 6+ years experience in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical or other regulated health care industries.
- Experience in Manufacturing operations in a Biopharma environment.
- Experience with projects within large sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate of Arts Degree (AA) with an emphasis in Mechanical/Electrical.
- Working industrial mechanical HVAC, refrigeration equipment, and Electrical experience.
