About This Role
An Enterprise Architect with an infrastructure focus ensures that the organizations overall technology strategy aligns with its business and IT function objectives, incorporating infrastructure considerations to efficient operations, integration, and growth. Role is responsible for providing a holistic view of the I&O organizations technology landscape, integrating infrastructure elements with other IT functional architectural domains. Develop and document proposed design for implementation working with functional architects to deliver highly reliable infrastructure architecture. Identify key roadmaps and investments within I&O to transform Biogen IT Infrastructure. Documents and maintains reference architectures, roadmaps, standards and models and actively participates in Enterprise Architecture governance forums acting as the main SME for the infrastructure aspects of the overall architecture solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Strategy Development: Lead development and execution of I&O organizations technology infrastructure strategy. Understanding business goals, assessing current infrastructure capabilities, identifying gaps, and recommending strategies to optimize and align infrastructure with business/functional needs.
- Responsible for designing infrastructure solutions that align with IT objectives and requirements. This involves understanding business and technical requirements, conducting feasibility studies, and developing architectural designs that encompass hardware, software, network, and security components. Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout the solution lifecycle. Collaborate with cross-functions teams, including developers, engineers, and operations personnel, to insure implementation and integration of infrastructure components.
- Technology Roadmap: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business/function leaders and IT Teams to define technology roadmap for infrastructure. This involves identifying emerging technologies, evaluating potential value, and aligning infrastructure investments with long-term business/function objectives. Documents and maintains reference architectures, roadmaps, standards and models and actively participates in Enterprise Architecture governance forums, acting as the main SME for the infrastructure aspects of the overall architecture solutions.
- Governance and Compliance: Define and implement governance processes to ensure that the infrastructure solutions adhere to architectural standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This includes conducting architectural reviews, assessing compliance, and providing guidance to project teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Collaboration with solution architects to ensure the infrastructure considerations are incorporated into the design and implementation of enterprise-wide solutions. Provide guidance on infrastructure design patterns, scalability, performance and security.

Qualifications
Required Skills
- 12+ years of experience working as an IT professional.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in infrastructure architecture. The experience should demonstrate progressive responsibility and involvement in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise infrastructure solutions.
- University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Strong technical skills across multiple infrastructure technologies and platforms.
- Proficiency in enterprise architecture frameworks and methodologies (TOGAF or Zachman Framework). Understand how to create architectural artifacts, develop target architectures, and align infrastructure strategies with business objectives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitate discussions, negotiate solutions, and build consensus amongst different functions.
- Experience in leading and influencing technical teams, as well as contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and thought leadership to ensure alignment between infrastructure initiatives and organizational goals.
Preferred Skills
- Pharma/Biotech experience preferred.
- Architecture certifications (AWS, Microsoft, etc.)
- Architecture Frameworks and Methodologies
- ITIL Foundation
