Biogen seeks a highly motivated individual to join the Immunology Research Unit. We are seeking an individual with significant experience in adaptive immunobiology, whose goal would be to advance drug discovery programs. This individual will join a stellar team of scientists focused on the designing and execution of experiments aimed at target discovery and understanding the mechanism of action of drug candidates being developed to treat autoimmune diseases rooted in human biology. The individual is expected to be a mentor, work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, build strong interactions with team members and be an active participant on multidisciplinary project teams.
You will challenge the status quo for the treatment of autoimmune diseases and detecting opportunities to develop medicines for those with autoimmune diseases. We expect you to develop therapeutic hypotheses, nominate druggable targets and build focused partnerships to deliver to the portfolio.
What You’ll Do
Help to lead drug discovery programs at early discovery stages and translate them into clinic
Collaborate extensively with multidisciplinary scientists to advance immunology portfolio projects
Capture and catalyze emerging scientific breakthroughs into new discovery programs
Conduct research focused on the pathogenic role of T cells and B cells in inflammation
Design and execute experiments to investigate and treat disease-causing mechanisms

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. in a life-science field: immunological disciplines and disorders
A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant postdoctoral and/or industry experience with demonstrated experience in the field of humoral or cell-mediated immunology
Relevant experience is expected to be reflected in either a track record of high impact publications or patents and pipeline project transitions
A visionary passion for immunology, a strong commitment to research and a pronounced interest in advanced technologies in drug discovery and development
