Job Description

As member of the GSC Data & Analytics team within the Operational Excellence group, the MDM Sr. Steward is responsible for the availability and accuracy of product master data in support of Biogen's supply chain operations, ensuring business continuity and patient supply. The daily duties include the creation of material master data in Biogen’s ERP system, the coordination of data enrichment workflows, the review of master data changes to ensure data quality and the support of business users in master data related issues. Furthermore, the MDM Sr. Steward participates in business projects such as new product launches, onboarding of new supply chain partners, advises the business on master data topics and executes necessary project activity. The MDM Sr. Steward trains business users on master data standards and system use and assists with authoring data standards, procedures, work instructions and training materials.

This role is located at our headquarters in RTP, NC and is a hybrid role working 3 days in-office. 

What You'll Do

  • Perform day to day data management & stewardship activities as part of the MDM responsibilities; e.g. item creation, BOM creation, mass data loads, data enrichment workflow coordination, support of business users. Ensures accuracy and data quality.
  • Participate in system capability projects across end-to-end supply chain to support low-mid impact projects through master data management best practices and services.
  • Facilitates projects with testing and data services (e.g. mass loads, data cleansing, writing SOPs and work instructions).
  • Ensure compliance. Exceptions handling/Investigate deviations, determine root causes, implement CAPAs, drive closure and support operational team where required.

Who You Are

You are a person that likes data with strong data entry and data management skills. You are a team player and someone who can take initiative and be proactive. You should have experience in supply chain and be able to apply in-depth knowledge to develop and implement solutions. 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or similar education 
  • Minimum 2-4 years working experience in a Master Data position
  • Experience within an international and controlled environment 
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills (excellent written and verbal communicator to articulate recommendations)
  • Experience with Supply Chain and LCM tools, preferably: Oracle, TrackWise, Agile PLM
  • Requires expanded conceptual knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities
  • Able to cross functionally work and relationship build with stakeholders

Preferred:

  • Lean Six Sigma/Green Belt certification
