Job Description
This application is for a 6-month student role from June - December 2023. Resume review begins in February 2023.
All pharmaceutical or biotech companies create and share materials (e.g., presentation decks, publications, e-mails, information via web pages etc.) on their products and disease areas with physicians, patients, and the public. Before releasing these materials, they are put through a rigorous review by Medical, Legal and Regulatory reviewers to ensure that the information is correct, balanced, and that no misleading information enters the market.
In Biogen, the process and IT system in which reviews are carried out (Veeva Vault) is owned by the Material Review Operations Partners Team. The team works closely with material owners from the Medical, Commercial, Market Access, Clinical and Corporate Affairs departments, and reviewers, to ensure the process is used compliantly. The team also works closely with the IT department to improve Veeva Vault by investigating, implementing, and testing cool solutions to make the lives of users easier.
Position Description
Detailed description of role including but not limited to:
- As part of the Material Review Operations Partners Team, you will contribute to the creation of an automated reference linking capability in Veeva Vault. You will collaborate with Medical and Commercial product teams around the world to create a library of promotional claims and scientific statements in Veeva Vault. You will use your scientific knowledge to link these claims and statements to the appropriate sections in scientific manuscripts and enable the automated solution. You will both project manage this for many products and countries, and gain hands-on experience of setting this up in Veeva Vault.
This project will give you the opportunity to learn and exercise project management capabilities, how to modify IT systems, gain multi-cultural experience, understand both the medical and commercial worlds in the Biotech industry, learn about the fascinating world of materials review, and exercise your scientific knowledge critically.

To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university
Education
Enrolled in Master’s level program in any of the following disciplines: Neuroscience, Biology/biological sciences, Pharmacy, Biological and biomedical sciences, Pharmaceutical sciences, Chemistry or Biochemistry.
