About This Role 
The US Biogen Biosimilar team is looking for a Director of Payer Channel Marketing (BIIB800) to lead payer marketing efforts to secure access for BIIB800, a biosimilar candidate referencing tocilizumab, anti-interleukin-6 receptor monoclonal antibody. This individual will be responsible for leading and coordinating payer access strategy as well as the development of materials to support the account field team’s engagements with payers. The individual will collaborate with a cross-functional team including the US BBU Franchise Strategy team, Marketing, Market Access & Reimbursement (MA&R), Market Research/ Decision Support, and regional and national account directors to develop content/resources to support the payer field team’s efforts in securing access for BIIB800. The candidate will report to the Head of Franchise Strategy, US BBU. 

What You’ll Do 
•    Lead the development of a communication plan with payers to help secure access and support the successful launch of BIIB800
•    Lead the development of payer marketing materials/ field team resources to support payer engagements that help secure access for BIIB800 
•    Manage the regulatory, medical, and legal approval process for market access tactics/resources
•    Collaborate with a cross-functional team to ensure alignment on the BIIB800 access strategy and communicate BIIB800 access strategy with the payer field team
•    Collaborate with the MA&R training team to ensure the payer field team has appropriate market knowledge and training on approved resources to successfully engage with payers and secure access for BIIB800
•    Support/help prepare the field team for payer discussions at managed market professional organization events (AMCP, PCMA)
•    Collaborate with the HEOR team to identity relevant HEOR/RWE studies that can be integrated into payer materials to support access for BIIB800
•    Engage in regular communications with the payer field team leadership and teams to understand their needs and receive feedback/input on resources
•    Help build a team focused on performance while also creating an environment focused on people development and culture
•    Attend all compliance and other required training and maintain a learning and growth mindset

You have significant market access experience as well as a deep understanding of payers and the supporting resources that enable effective engagement. You are organized, analytical, a good listener with strong integrity and commitment to do the right thing, who can incorporate feedback/insights into high-quality deliverables, an excellent communicator, and someone who can manage and effectively prioritize multiple workstreams to help the business achieve its access goals. 

Qualifications

Required Skills 
•    7+ years of industry experience in related positions including payer marketing, marketing, sale, and account management-related activities
•     Proven performance in developing winning strategies for product access 
•    Demonstrated understanding of buy & bill dynamics, formulary management and the growing areas of specialty management inclusive of biosimilars
•    Understanding of pricing, contracting and ASP dynamics; ability to leverage this knowledge/experience to develop resources to support payer field team engagements 
•    Proven ability to operate within a complex matrix environment and excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
•    Prior experience interfacing with and communicating to internal executive staff and field-based leaders managing customers
•    Ability to develop a strategic launch plan to support product access and implement the plan
•    Demonstrated ability to manage regulatory, medical, and legal approval process for market access tactics/resources
•    Strong integrity and a commitment to do the right thing
 

Preferred Skills
•    Bachelor’s degree in business, health policy or related field equivalent experience required; MBA or comparable master’s degree preferred
•    Previous biosimilar experience preferred

The base compensation range for this role is $171,600 to $285,900.  Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job related years of relevant experience, internal equity, and location of the job. Additionally, this role is eligible for participation in Biogen’s LTI grants and other incentive programs.
