About This Role

You will serve as Biogen’s core resource in selecting, developing, and implementing innovative technologies for handling diverse data sets collected from real world research and distributed trials. Reporting to the Head of Technology & AI, Data Office, you will build pipelines that harmonize, curate, validate, and enhance data, connecting the journey of individuals with the scientists and clinician seeking to enhance care and discover new therapies.  

What You’ll Do  

• Perform analysis of alternatives on data platform components relating to mobile platforms, electronic health records, and distributed trials 

• Develop software and technology pipelines for data lifecycle, especially ingest and harmonization of clinical and distributed sensor data  

• Implement technology enabling annotation, search and discovery of clinical, daily living, patient-reported outcome, and mobile sensor data  

• Build and establish machine learning and knowledge driven processes and techniques for automated enrichment of clinical, mobile, and patient-reported outcome data

Required Skills  

• 7-10 years’ experience with clinical data and patient reported outcome data 

• Understanding of mobile software development frameworks and constraints 

• Proficiency in Python and distributed and cloud computing frameworks  

• Fluency in scientific computing patterns and machine learning frameworks 

• Management of data for scientific publication and evidence generation 

• Product development experience leveraging user story or persona-driven frameworks 

Preferred Skills 

• Familiarity with sensor instrumentation on mobile devices (e.g., GPS, IMU) 

• Experience working with distributed clinical trials
