About This Role
The Senior Manager, Worldwide Medical Learning Partner applies their business knowledge and technical training expertise to drive improved performance across the business. This position is responsible for building and sustaining relationships with medical business stakeholders, working to understand their learning needs, and proposing and implementing learning solutions. Based on ongoing learning needs analyses, this role recommends and implements appropriate solutions. The Sr. Manager will also design/develop/customize and maintain training curricula and coordinate and deliver foundational, advanced, and continuous training programs. The Sr. Manager will utilize internal and external resources, as appropriate, to execute learning initiatives and is responsible for evaluating results against organizational goals and adapting and refining learning plans, as needed. The Sr. Manager also supports appropriate and optimal use of the Learning Management System, including liaising with business stakeholders to determine appropriate assignments, assignment profiles, and curricula development. The Sr. Manager helps establish and implement a learning-centric culture and performance-driven approach across the organization. This role reports into the Associate Director, Learning Partner, Worldwide Medical Learning-US and is a remote role with a preference for Eastern Time Zone. 

What You’ll Do
•    Develops the US (United States) Medical Training strategy in alignment with the Global Medical Training Strategy and in partnership with the US Medical Team.
•    Leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of global, regional, and local training programs.
•    Leads medical training initiatives for the US region, serving as the learning subject-matter expert.
•    In conjunction with the Global Counterpart leads Global Medical Training initiatives to be rolled out for all regions.
•    Designs and adapts optimal training programs for onboarding and ongoing medical training on new data and innovations in the treatment landscape to enable personnel, both in the home office and field, with the knowledge and skills required to successfully engage with internal and external stakeholders.
•    Develops impactful, interactive programs by utilizing a variety of innovative approaches, including blended, experiential, media based, instructor-led, 1:1 training, performance support, and other emerging technologies.
•    Manages training projects and oversees vendors to ensure development of scientifically accurate training materials that align with the Medical Strategy.
•    Evaluates training effectiveness using surveys, knowledge checks, and proficiency scores.
•    Ensures that training is documented in the appropriate Learning Management System.
•    Maintains a central repository for training materials so that they are easily retrieved by the Medical team and other internal stakeholders.
•    Maintains keen understanding of training needs and stays current with industry trends to deploy the most effective training methods for adult learning.
•    Be accountable for building a concrete understanding of Biogen’s stance and efforts around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as integrate DE&I strategies into the talent lifecycle (e.g. talent management, hiring, compensation)
•    Actively participate in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, such as Employee Resource Networks programming, to reinforce HR’s commitment to an inclusive, engaging environment 
 

Qualifications

Who You Are
You have experience as a medical science liaison and passionate about medical learning and training.   You are collaborative and thrive working on a global, cross functional team.  You possess the ability to drive business needs without authority and focus on continuous improvement.

•    3 years of Medical Science Liaison experience.
•    5 years of scientific, industry, or academic education/ training experience, preferred
•    Undergraduate/Graduate degree in a related field (B.S., Masters, PhD, PharmD, MD)
•    Expert communication and collaboration skills along with scientific acumen and knowledge of adult learning principles.
•    Proven work experience leading programs or projects as part of a cross-functional team.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills.
•    Excellent planning and organization skills.
•    Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods for adult learning.
•    Record of accomplishment of efficiently managing multiple projects/priorities.
•    Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration between various internal functions (e.g., regional medical leadership team, field medical, scientific partnerships, commercial cross-functional partners).
