Job Description
The Benefit and System Analyst serves as a shared resource to the Benefits COE and the Workday/Systems COE. This role will be a subject matter expert in core Workday HCM processes and design. Will be a major contributor to the design and configuration of Workday processes and tools that result from HR programs, policies, and practices with a focus on Benefits. Will proactively offer expertise to help build and utilize Workday in a way that supports Biogen’s technology and benefits roadmap. Acts as a consultant and guides the HR organization to use Workday and Benefits best practices and helps to enable self-service through training and enhancements.
- BiogenConnect and Total Rewards Content Governance
- Develop scalable training modules and article content for benefits and systems processes
- Facilitate components of major HR processes, including but not limited to Benefits Administration, providing creative solutions when needed
- Participates in ad-hoc projects as they arise, and configures HR systems to correspond with global processes, only varying processes when needed to comply with local regulations
- Assists w/ Tier 3 production support for Workday and Benefits; contributes towards the closure of cases
- Supports and understands existing and new functionality and features within Workday and other key HR technology
- Support annual open enrollment project on benefits enrollment and eligibility platform, including extensive testing for quality and accuracy; collaborate closely with enrollment platform vendor, Benefits, Payroll, and IT Teams.
- Support the Benefits Team in planning and executing annual live and/or virtual benefits fairs and biometric screening events for employees. Coordinate logistics such as dates, time, locations, and resources with internal stakeholders and vendors, and coordinate execution of events.
- Support Benefits Team in Management of ~35 benefit plan providers, including coordinating purchase orders, establishing and managing ongoing funding, and tracking receipt of key metrics such as SLAs and key reports including tax reporting, SOX reports, and SLAs.
- Provide Commuter Benefit Program support, including audits, analysis, research, benchmarking, and issue resolution.
- Partner with Benefits Team, vendors, and Corporate Communications to drive engagement in Biogen’s wellbeing programs, including developing and executing communications (e.g., intranet articles and knowledgebase content, eBoards, home mailings, emails, monthly newsletter, and workshops. Maintain knowledgebase policies, articles, and other communications.
- Partner with Benefits Team and vendors to execute key compliance activities including ACA and tax reporting.
- Support the Benefits Team in presenting information and answering questions for employees during new Employee Orientation.
Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 5+ years of HR technology and/or benefits experience as well as direct experience with Workday HCM a plus
- Ideal candidate will have completed Workday Training related to HCM Fundamentals, Core Concepts, and Benefits Administration
- Very strong problem solving, time management, and communication skills
- Experience in creating reports a plus (custom reports, calculated fields, dashboard configuration, composite reports, etc.)
- Excel experience and knowledge a plus
