Job Description

As an Infrastructure engineer, you will support the installation and troubleshooting of infrastructure assets across our global data centre estate.

The Infrastructure Delivery department is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle management of all physical assets across the global data centre estate, including commissioning, support, maintenance and decommissioning.

We are looking for an experienced individual with a strong understanding of large scale data centre environments. Utilising your knowledge of maintaining and deploying assets, you will support in delivering infrastructure projects locally and globally to defined timeframes and installation standards.

Additionally, you will provide essential on-site hardware break-fix support and collaborate with internal teams and third-party engineers to co-ordinate equipment installation and hardware component replacement.

The role requires travel to several data centre locations across Dublin; there will also be a requirement for some international travel.

Qualifications

  • Solid technical background working across data centre and infrastructure environments.
  • Strong understanding of multi-vendor data center infrastructure, such as servers, networking devices, and storage.
  • Working knowledge of HPE and Dell management software, such as HPE OneView and Dell Open Manage.
  • Demonstrable experience with Windows server and Linux
  • Experience of completing hardware component replacements and in-depth hardware troubleshooting to identify a root cause.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to quickly identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues that may impact data centre operations.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
  • Experience co-ordinating work both locally and remotely to deliver to strict timeframes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Deploying physical hardware across datacentres in line with policy and standards.
  • Supporting break-fix activity through hardware asset and component replacement.
  • Troubleshooting technical issues with infrastructure assets, including both hardware and software.
  • Co-ordinating third-party engineers, ensuring all work is completed to company standards.
  • Validating server builds, ensuring that they conform to both Business and security standards.
  • Ensuring datacentre standards are maintained to documented guidelines.
  • Maintaining server and component stock levels.
  • Remaining abreast of the latest technologies and providing recommendations for implementation.
  • Creating, maintaining, and reviewing technical team documentation.
  • Identifying areas for improvement and actively working to resolve them.
