Job Description

BELVAR is happy to announce 2 new hotel openings in Essen. MOXY Essen City (176 rooms) and Residence Inn by Marriott Essen City (92 rooms) opening autumn 2020.

We are looking for a General Manager to ensure that both hotels will run with success.  

The General Manager will assist in the recruitment process and the finalization of the hotels and needs to have a proven track record of success in hotel management and the urge to grow. As General Manager for both hotels, you’ll have the opportunity to apply what you know, strengthen as a leader and be part of an international organization. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will oversee all aspects of operations by exercising demonstrated knowledge and experience in all phases of hotel management, including sales and marketing, human resources, food and beverage, budget and forecast management, rooms, housekeeping and maintenance. 
  • You will provide the vision, leadership and strategy to inspire your associates to deliver exceptional service and drive financial success.
  • You have a strong hotel management background and an obvious passion for the hospitality industry.
  • Your passion for service is contagious and you are a natural coach that loves to build effective teams and inspires individuals to do their best. 
  • You will enable innovation and drive results. You execute successful sales and marketing campaigns, understand dynamic revenue management and can drive profit to the bottom line through strong financial controls. 

Qualifications

  • A degree in Business Administration, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
  • A visible, proactive and personally involved leader with excellent organization and communication skills- capable of engaging hotel staff to deliver exceptional service
  • 4 years mixed management experience in the guest services, front desk, F&B, housekeeping, sales and marketing, management operations, or related professional area
  •  Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Social media knowledge and experience
  • Experience with hotel openings
  • Experience working abroad is a plus
  • Fluent in German and English
