For Benelux we are looking for a multi property BENELUX SALES MANAGER.
The position is accountable for proactively soliciting, handling sales opportunities and reaching revenue/room night targets for the Courtyard Brussels EU, Moxy Brussels City Center (pre-opening), Courtyard Amsterdam Arena Atlas and our restaurants GÅRD Taste Scandinavian. Focusing on the transient segment including special corporate, leisure, airline and lead generation for groups for the hotel.
Working with the Marriott Global Sales Organization (GSO) and individual company’s procurement departments as well as with wholesale partners, airlines and intermediaries. Assists in leading all day-to-day activities related to sales with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of sales objectives. Achieves personal sales goals.
Building Successful Relationships that Generate Sales Opportunities
- Works collaboratively with head office sales, Market Sales and GSO
- Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers.
- Handles customer care issues as necessary.
- Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Increases local penetration of high potential accounts to optimize demand and satisfy important property needs.
Managing Sales Activities
- 60% hunting / 40% farming.
- Participates in activities to acquire new business and/or close on business.
- Preparation for solicitation of local companies.
- Activities include: Sales Blitzing, Solicitation Calling, Appointments, Site Visits, lead generation for groups, Entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
- Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
- Uses all information systems (e.g., SFAWeb|CI, MRDW, MarRFP-SAPP to research the deployment and value of the accounts deemed important for stakeholders’ hotels.
- Participates in weekly SSM meetings with the management & revenue team and contributes to the business plan on a yearly basis.
Using Knowledge of Market Trends and Target Customer Information to Maximize Revenue
- Identifies new business to achieve personal and location revenue goals.
- Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Closes the best opportunities for the location based on market conditions and location needs.
- Gains understanding of the location’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solutions.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
- Supports the company's service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
- Services our customers in order to grow share of the account.
- Executes and supports the company's customer service standards.
- Provides excellent customer service consistent with the daily service basics of the company.
- Sets a positive example for guest relations.
- Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
Qualifications
- 2 Years pro-active and re-active sales experience in hospitality industry or related professional area
- Relevant degree, in a sales or hospitality / business discipline
- Fluent command in French and English; written and spoken
- Team player and entrepreneurial
