Job Description
As our newest Junior Product Copywriter, you will be responsible for crafting consistent, accurate, and creative copy that captures our customers' imaginations and encourages them to create joyful experiences. You will build relationships with your excellent communication skills, while sharing joy as you collaborate with other teams.
What you'll be doing:
Copywriting
- Writes clear, error-free, compelling copy in accordance with the brand guidelines.
- Supports the Product Copy Team in creating, localizing, and updating product names, site product descriptions, technology modules, assembly modules, and catalog product descriptions according to the style guidelines.
- Creates, localizes, and updates product names, site product descriptions, technology modules, assembly modules, and catalog product descriptions according to the style guidelines.
- Verifies factual correctness of information, pertaining to features, technologies, and measurements.
- Creates, localizes, and updates copy tasks across geos according to the style guidelines.
- Uses SEO principles, when required, to maximize copy’s reach.
- Proofreads copy and corrects spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors.
- Incorporates all review callouts from the Senior Copy Manager, Copy Managers, Senior Copy Editor, Product Copywriters, Site Managers, Merchants, Tree Sourcing Team, and Localization team.
- Collaborates with the Senior Copy Manager, Copy Managers, Senior Copy Editor, Product Copywriters, Site Managers, Merchants, Tree Sourcing Team, and Localization team on product description quality and accuracy.
- Ensures the timely completion of tasks and deliverables.
- Assists in other copy projects as needed.
Competitor Research & Analysis
- Conducts seasonal reviews on competitor websites and products.
- Gathers and studies a compilation of industry best practices.
- Shares and updates sub-functional team with latest developments and trends.
Organization Development
- Attends monthly function meetings to discuss updates.
- Attends and participates in bi-weekly sub-function meetings to discuss updates, wins, and challenges.
- Establishes and enhances strong business relationships with cross-functional partners.
- Participates and attends continued learning programs to support knowledge building, enhance skills, and improve team efficiency and productivity.
- Supports any other projects that may be assigned from time to time by other Company officers.
- Ensures the harmonious relationship between self and the Company’s officers and co-employees in carrying out the job assigned.
Perform other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Communications, English, Journalism, etc.).
- Minimum of one (1) year experience copywriting for a fast-paced eCommerce retailer or advertising agency that promotes and enhances websites, brands, and products, ensuring strict adherence to branding and optimization guidelines.
- Excellent command of the English language, with high level of American English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Passion for writing and ability to write engaging and informative copy on various subjects.
- Experience in a variety of writing styles and formats (creative, technical, etc.)
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive, efficient, detail-oriented, quick to learn, and has a strong work ethic.
- Open to constructive feedback and understands the importance of continually developing skills, strengths, and remaining solution-focused.
- Comfortable working through tasks via electronic means (email, chat, and task management applications)
- Must have proficient use of basic Microsoft Office: Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
- Must be comfortable performing online research, as required.
- Must have working knowledge of Zoom and HTML.
Nice to have:
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack.
- Some experience working with Product Information Management.
- Basic understanding of SEO concepts.
Location: The Junior Product Copywriter position is a remote working position for Balsam International Unlimited Philippine ROHQ in Manila. Team members in the Philippines are located within Metro Manila, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Pampanga, Rizal, and Tarlac areas only.
Our must-haves:
- Must attend occasional in-person meetings depending on the status of the pandemic.
- Must have a fast, reliable DSL, Fiber, or Broadband connection (not mobile or broadband stick) as the primary internet connection with a minimum actual speed of 10MBPS.
- Must have a backup internet connection of the same speed, if the primary connection becomes spotty.
Note: An online assessment will also be part of the recruitment process.
Status: This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits.
Hardware Provision: Company-issued Laptop will be provided on the first day.
