Job Description
Join Our Dynamic Team as a Senior Demand Generation Manager! 🌟
Are you passionate about telecoms? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment? At Babble, we’re on a mission to be our customer’s most trusted advisor for cloud-based technologies. We’re looking for passionate and talented individuals to join our dynamic team. If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!
What will you be doing?
Own the shift from ad hoc, campaign-by-campaign marketing to a structured, always-on demand generation motion for Babble — running and continuously improving how we play across the installed base and new logo acquisition, not just deciding whether to.
This is a senior player-coach role: equal parts doing and coaching. The person needs genuine, recent practitioner experience in modern B2B demand generation — building and running campaigns personally — and the credibility to coach others to that same standard, not manage from a distance.
The signal-to-play machine — owned by the Demand Performance Manager, who reports into this role — determines where and when to play which accounts, which signals, which moments. This role owns how to play: designing, running, and optimising the plays themselves, and building the discipline that replaces one-off campaigns and events with a repeatable system.
New logo is genuinely new territory for Babble. The infrastructure behind it — the new logo playbook and the HubSpot deployment — is being built elsewhere; this role's job is to make that infrastructure work in practice, running the plays and improving performance over time.
This role also works closely with the Head of Content, ensuring strong content is planned and packaged as a demand asset from the outset, rather than something demand has to retrofit into a play afterwards. Content does not report into this role.
This is a genuine step up in seniority: the Demand Performance Manager reports into this role, and it is explicitly intended as a proving ground for a future Marketing Director. Relevant, hands-on player-coach experience matters more here than seniority or title history.
Accountabilities and Deliverables:
- Personally run and continuously optimise Babble's demand plays across the account tiers — staying hands-on as a practitioner, not directing purely from above.
- Personally run and continuously optimise Babble's demand plays across the account tiers — staying hands-on as a practitioner, not directing purely from above over time rather than compensating for gaps personally.
- Own how Babble plays once the Demand Performance Manager's signal-to-play machine identifies where and when to play — turning signal into a well-executed, well-sequenced play, every time.
- Replace ad hoc campaigns and one-off events with a structural, repeatable demand motion — resisting the pull back into isolated activity even under pressure to react quickly.
- Own execution of the new logo motion once the playbook and HubSpot deployment are in place — running, optimising, and improving it, not building the underlying infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Head of Content so strong content is planned and packaged as a demand asset from the outset — content as a campaign, not something retrofitted into a play after the fact.
- Manage the Demand Performance Manager and the wider demand execution team day to day, setting standards and priorities across a distributed group.
- Own reporting on demand and campaign performance, working with RevOps to keep measurement honest and useful.
Core Competencies:
- Genuine, current practitioner experience — has personally built and run modern B2B demand campaigns, not managed them from a distance.
- Player-coach mindset — as comfortable developing other people's skills as exercising their own.
- Comfortable owning execution quality against someone else's targeting logic, not only their own campaign ideas.
- Structural thinker — builds repeatable systems rather than reaching for the nearest one-off activity.
- Comfortable inheriting and operating a system someone else designed and making it perform in the real world.
- Collaborative across functions — treats content as a campaign input, not someone else's output to borrow from.
- People leadership — genuinely capable of managing a manager, not only individual contributors.
- Commercial and analytical literacy — reads performance data and adjusts the plan, not just reports the numbers.
Key Performance Indicators
- Net GP contribution from base health and growth motion (O1) — target to be confirmed.
- New logo pipeline volume and velocity (O2) — target to be set following CRO/Finance session.
- Share of demand activity running through structured, repeatable plays versus one-off or ad hoc activity.
- Proportion of major content assets packaged into an active demand play within an agreed window of publication.
- Demonstrable improvement in the wider team's execution capability over time.
- Churn-risk accounts identified and engaged within the agreed intervention window.
Qualifications
- Genuine, hands-on practitioner experience running modern, signal-led B2B demand generation — not campaign management from a distance.
- Practical experience operating tiered, automation-driven programmes: fully automated always-on sequences for high-volume, low-touch segments; semi-automated sequences combining email, LinkedIn, and sales alerts for mid-tier accounts; and bespoke, account-based programmes for high-value strategic accounts.
- Working fluency with lead and account scoring and next-best-action logic — comfortable interpreting and acting on a scoring model's output (health scores, intent signals, propensity to buy) to decide what happens next, even where they aren't the person building the model itself.
- Genuine account-based marketing (ABM) experience — running coordinated, multi-channel programmes (targeted LinkedIn, retargeting, bespoke content) for named strategic accounts, not just scaled-up volume campaigns.
- Comfortable with personalisation at scale — using signal and segment data to tailor sequences and content by account tier, rather than running one version of a campaign for everyone.
- Practical experience with a marketing automation platform (HubSpot or equivalent) and CRM-integrated alerting (Salesforce or equivalent) — enough to direct, troubleshoot, and improve what the platform is doing day to day.
- Proven ability to coach and develop other demand marketers to a consistently high standard.
- Experience managing a manager or a multi-layered team, ideally distributed across locations and time zones.
- Track record of replacing ad hoc marketing activity with structured, repeatable programmes.
- Relevant player-coach experience matters more than seniority or job titles — candidates without a Head of/Director title but with the right hands-on background should be considered strongly.
