Job Description
The Control Room Operator reports to the Shift Supervisor and will monitor all system conditions, co-ordinate all systems, and operation related activities; document any system stoppages and submit required reports .The Control Room Operator will accurately report all system faults and breakdowns in a timely manner to Maintenance Technicians in order to minimize system down-time.
Must be able to work any shift; including nights, weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Coordinate execution of the operational procedures for specific tasks during normal operations or during system failure
- Supply accurate fault reports and system breakdowns to technical staff for quick fault resolution
- Complete hand over report during shift changes
- Contact operations staff in the field to inform them of any operational problem requiring attention
- Liaise with management regarding daily operations
- Contact with baggage handling system stakeholders to manage the daily issues or questions related to system operation
- Monitor system performance (system baggage flow)
- Monitor manual encoder operator performance
- Technical and procedural training to manual encoding operators in performing their duties
- Complete detailed shift reports
- Analyze issues to determine corrective actions to prevent their future occurrences
- Carry out other tasks or assignments, as assigned
Pay rate per hour: $27.66 | Fringe rate per hour : $7.73 minus benefit credit.
Working hours: Sunday-Wednesday (Sunday-Tuesday 4:00pm-4:00am and Wednesday 4:00pm-10:00pm)
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Must be able to work any shift; including nights, weekends and holidays
- 2 + years of work experience in baggage handling systems and/or automated systems in material handling industries, operations and maintenance
- Ability to successfully obtain an Airside Pass (Security Clearance)
- High-Level control (SAC) skills
- Software documentation and IT network knowledge
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
- Team player, personable and a winning attitude
