Job Description

The System Specialist will be a subject matter expert (SME) for the baggage handling system and will support the existing maintenance team with technical knowledge, as well as perform preventive checks for ensuring system effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with remote Hotline for support
  • Ensure continuous improvements
  • Attend to major stoppages, which require equipment know-how
  • Preventive checks
  • Monitor and improve operations
  • Supervision of agreed KPI's
  • Execute back-up procedures
  • Ensure secure PLC and server hardware are maintained
  • Warranty Case Handling
  • On Call hours as required for operational needs
  • Availability required for potential night shift hours
  • Additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications

  • Technical diploma or degree: within the field of electrical, preferred
  • 3 – 5 years of maintenance automation systems experience 
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working with Material Handling Systems
  • Electrical hardware skills
  • Mechanical hardware skills
  • PLC and Controls skills
  • MS Office; Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Strategy insight and comprehension
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all Health and Safety Requirements
  • Airport operations experience is a plus
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security clearance
