Functieomschrijving
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the road package, ensuring its successful execution within the project timeline and budget. This pivotal role demands strong leadership, extensive knowledge of road construction, and meticulous attention to detail. You will collaborate closely with various teams to ensure the seamless integration of road works into the overall construction project.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop a comprehensive strategy for the road package, aligning with overall project goals.
- Contribute to the development of project plans, budgets, and schedules specific to the road package.
- Ensure compliance with all terms and conditions of the package contract.
- Lead and manage the road construction team, providing technical expertise in the planning, execution, and delivery of earthworks, pavement works, drainage systems, road infrastructure, and associated utilities.
- Review design drawings and specifications for cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
- Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment required for road construction, ensuring high quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient coordination and execution of road works activities.
- Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure that all road works meet industry standards, specifications, and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant road construction standards, regulations, environmental requirements, and safety procedures.
- Manage and optimize resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Identify potential risks associated with road construction activities and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them.
- Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and ensure project continuity.
- Enforce strict adherence to health and safety protocols on the construction site, fostering a strong safety culture among the project team.
- Take care of the contractual and financial follow-up and budget control.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all matters related to the road package, fostering strong relationships with internal and external project teams.
- Provide regular updates and reports to project leadership and clients.
Functie-eisen
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in managing steel structure packages for very large building projects.
- Able to anticipate and set challenging targets, while monitoring simultaneous activities
- Result oriented, you plan, monitor and report progress.
- Manage your own project budget and take effective decisions based on personal confidence.
- Identify problems and develop/recommend solutions.
- Experience working with Chinese subcontractors is preferred.
- Excellent English language skills and also French.
