Job Description
As Data Protection Coordinator for BESIX Group you will be responsible to advice on, and coordinate compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and derived regulations and rules, and, more globally, all data protection rules applicable to Besix Group NV and its affiliates worldwide (“BESIX”).
As such, the DPC (Data Protection Coordinator) will:
- monitor legal and regulatory evolutions in the field of data protection, at international and national level;
- develop and implement an effective data protection compliance program: translate it into internal policies, processes and procedures, to ensure flawless compliance of all Besix’ operations;
- train Besix personnel on data protection rules and internal policies, processes and procedures;
- proactively control internal policies, processes and procedures, to identify flaws and weaknesses; propose and implement corrective measures;
- liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders;
For this role you will report directly to our Secretary General.
Qualifications
- You have a university degree in law, economics, business, HR, IT or any other relevant domain, with a strong academic track record
- Minimum five years of relevant and demonstrated experience in either data protection or compliance in general, in a consultancy, law firm or company, preferably in an international context
- Fluent in Dutch, English and French; any other language is a plus
- Rigorous, methodical, attention to detail
- Outspoken organizational talents
- Strong interpersonal, networking and communication skills
- Team player; driven by collective results rather than individual achievements
- Self starter
- Able and willing to drive change
- Impeccable personal and work ethics
You are willing to work from our HQ in Brussels (Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe) with occasional travelling.
