Job Description

BESIX Watpac are seeking a Foreman to join our South-East Queensland construction team.  Initially based on a project in New Farm, this is a permanent role with long term career opportunity across multi-disciplinary projects.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Proactively drive company safety, environment and quality policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Organise on a daily and weekly time frame the sequencing of the on-site activities ensuring that the subcontractors have access to their work face for materials and equipment, including the co-ordination of materials, equipment, personnel, and materials handling plant.
  • Review the construction programme with the Site Manager, re-sequencing activities as necessary to achieve the programmed completion date.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with standards and contract documents.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in building/construction, or trade qualification in a construction related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
