Job Description

With the recent approval of the design and construct contract, we are seeking Structures Foremen to join our Te Kaha project team.  The purpose of these roles will be to oversee day to day organisation of onsite construction resources, including subcontractors, and their various disciplines.

The key responsibilities of the positions will include:

  • Proactively drive company safety, environment and quality policies, practices and procedures in compliance with Management Plans and OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Organise sequencing of on-site activities including the coordination of materials, equipment, personnel, and materials handling plant.
  •  In consultation with the Site Manager, allocate necessary site staff and resources and confirm that all the resources for the project will be available when required.
  • Review the construction programme with the Site Manager, re-sequencing activities as necessary to achieve the programmed completion date.
  • Ensure that the Company's policies and practices on safety, industrial relations and quality assurance are implemented and policed at the work face.
  • Ensure quality and compliance with standards and contract documents.

Qualifications

The incumbent in this role will require the following qualifications and experience:

  • Degree/Diploma in building/construction, or other recognised tertiary or trade qualification in a construction related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering large building or infrastructure projects and managing structural trades.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a high pressure environment.
  • Ability to communicate, influence and build effective relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening and decision making skills.
