Job Description

BESIX Watpac are seeking a Building Cadet to join our Construction QLD division, providing assistance in the preparation of contract documents, the tendering process, and other general site administration duties.  This is an exciting opportunity for a current undergraduate student to be involved with the following:

  • Assist with the trade package tendering process including compilation and approval of tender documents and proposed tender list, issue of documents, receipt of tenders, comparison of tenders and submission of tender recommendation for approval.
  • Assist with general administration of trade packages following award including progress payments, variations and final accounts.
  • Assist with the general administration of Head Contract including progress claim, extension of time claims and variations.
  • Compilation and control of project documents including maintenance of a control register. Ensure prompt issue of documentation to the respective parties.
  • Assist with general site duties, office and administration as required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

  • Studying a Construction/Building tertiary course at a recognised institution, ideally in second or third year.
  • Working knowledge of MSWord, MSExcel, MSOutlook and ability and willingness to learn new software packages as required.
  • Proven high level of professionalism and work ethic.
  • Proven track record and ongoing focus on timeliness, accuracy and punctuality.
  • Attendance of lectures during work hours not to exceed 1 full-day, or 2 half-days per week.
