Job Description
The Business Development Associate should provide cross-functional support to the department to facilitate a unified business management approach for the entire organisation.
The majority of BDAsc role will be office-based to provide support to the Department Head and BDO’s in the day-to-day tasks, while taking charge of the CRM System to ensure all key and relevant information is up-to-date and available. Through taking charge of the System, the BDAsc will also act as the it’s the systems main administrator for the region and will ‘lead’ a group of super-users. Naturally, in administrating the System, it is expected that the BDAsc will also train the allocated users.
The CRM administration neatly ties into the responsibilities of BDA Support, where it is expected that the BDAsc should provide high-level assistance in identifying opportunities, processing data and ensuring it is encoded immediately and accurately into the CRM System. It is also expected that the BDAsc would further process any addition information and intelligence gathered by the rest of the department.
The BDAsc role is the foundation of the BDA Department. An effective Associate will allow for the smooth operations of Business Development, which aims to lead the company’s direction and strategy.
Essential Job Functions
Workstream 1: CRM Platform Management
- Creation and deletion of Projects, Accounts and Contacts into the system.
- Regularly update new information of Accounts, Projects and Contacts upon receipt (updates maybe provided from internal sources – meetings, emails etc. or external sources – MEED, stakeholders etc.).
- Maintain the system by undertaking regular clean-ups of projects, accounts and contacts (i.e. closing of projects from an out-of-business account etc.).
- Modification of the CRM system to streamline features or to allow additional/less information to be displayed or inputted. Assist in improving the CRM system to better facilitate department operations
- Management of CRM system users and their privileges. Act as CRM Administrator and ‘leader’ to 3-5 super-users. (Super-user for each department).
- Undertake presentations and trainings on the use and access of the CRM system.
- Undertake the coordination and implementation of Group CRM policy, compliances, procedures with the Head-Office.
Workstream 2: BDA Support
- Process and collate new information from the Business Development Officers into the CRM system and various relevant databases (data management and data processing skills).
- Understand the various business strategies and support in the assessments of ventures and opportunities for management decision.
- Assist in the data mining of opportunities and potential prospects in the market from various sources.
- Provide early identification of focus/strategic/short-term/long-term prospects.
- Based on created dashboards/graphs in the system, assist in the ‘crunching of numbers’ and extraction of statistical data for better decision making and business forecasting.
- Assist in managing the ‘Client Centricity’ initiative and process of the organization.
Workstream 3: Business Reporting
- On a monthly basis produce the necessary board/management reports (Commercial Highlights, presentations etc.)
- Produce (using the CRM System) and update dashboards in the CRM management system for various meetings/analyses.
- Produce trend reports based on market data and internal CRM system data.
Workstream 4: Department Administration
- Assist in drafting formal correspondences (letters) to various requests. I.e. Confidentiality Agreements, Expressions of Interest, etc.
- Assist in the management of documents. I.e. obtaining signatures, submitting documents etc.
- Support in the management of internal and external meetings.
Qualifications
- 1-4 years’ experience with data management, CRM administration or related.
- A degree/diploma/certificate in Data Science and Management Information Systems.
- Experience in the Construction Industry would be beneficial, buy not required
- English (written & spoken) is required while Arabic and/or French would be an advantage.
- Capable of leading a service development plan for clients as a strategy of establishing new lines of business.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, presentable and keen to speak in front of people and/or present.
- Excellent communication, presentation skills and computer literacy.
- Solution oriented through the application of advanced problem-solving skills.
- Ability to achieve results through others without formalised line of authority.
- Experience in the back-end manipulation of various CRM software’s such as: Appitvo, Zoho CRM, Salesforce, Insightly etc.
- A keen interest in MS Excel and ability to produce and manage complicated formulas.
- Ability to learn and grasp the necessary formulas to produce dashboards in the CRM System
- Interactive and proactive in administrative tasks.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
