We are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. As Chief Accountant you will be responsible for the following tasks: 

1. General Accounting
1.1. Planning of the workload of the accountants.
1.2. Support and supervise accountants.
1.3. Review and validate of the work of accountants.
1.4. Analysis and justification of accounts (general, customers and suppliers).
1.5. Verification of compliance with the accounting requirements of BESIX RED and subsidiaries.
1.6. Supervision and finalization of fences, quarterly, annual.
1.7. Supervision and finalization of the NBB annual accounts.
1.8. Relations with the auditors.

2. Cost Accounting
2.1.Verification and correction of analytical input.
2.2.Management control for the correct application of the rules of analytical encoding

3. Approval flow
3.1. Supervision of approval flow of incoming invoices
 

4. Taxation
4.1. Supervision of the preparation of VAT declarations.
4.2. Preparation of tax declarations and annexes in collaboration with Tax & Legal Manager
4.3. Management and monitoring of tax audits (VAT & ISOC) in collaboration with the Tax & Legal Manager

5. Establishment of "group reports" in direct relation with the Chief Financial Officer
5.1.Preparation and follow-up of consolidation, reprocessing, documentation.
5.2.Establishment of consolidated accounts and results.
5.3. Link between consolidation and group reporting.
5.4.Establishment of the monthly MONA group reporting.

6. Interco
6.1. Interco control (internal to Bred and intra-group).

7. Computer skills
7.1.Proposal, implementation and monitoring of the evolution of accounting computer tools

• Master or Bachelor with specialization in accounting.
• Experience confirmed as Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor or Senior Accountant, (8/10 years experience).
• First experience of Chief Accountant / people management is a plus.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and knowledge in consolidation.
• Native French or Dutch, with a good knowledge of the 2nd national language and good knowledge of English.
• Experience with general ledger functions and end-of-month / year-end closing process
• Practical experience of accounting packages, ERP experience - Adfinity (Easi Financial Solutions) is a plus
• Very organized with great attention to detail
• Real estate experience is a plus
• Team player / Coach Attitude / not afraid of new challenges
