Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff/Senior UEFI Engineer to lead the design and development of UEFI firmware for high-performance server platforms. This role goes beyond standard BIOS development; you will be the primary architect for the Host-to-BMC communication interface, ensuring that Axiado’s security features are seamlessly integrated and validated within the x86 EDK2 codebase.
Key Responsibilities:
- EDK2 Architecture: Lead the development of UEFI drivers and applications within the EDK2 framework for Intel/AMD-based server architectures.
- Host-to-BMC IPC: Design and optimize Inter-Processor Communication (IPC) mechanisms (e.g., MCTP over MMBI/I2C/USB or eSPI interfaces) to enable secure and high-speed data exchange between the x86 Host and the Axiado Security Processor/BMC.
- Feature Validation: Drive the execution and ensuring BIOS-side compliance for all management and security features. Such as I3C_MNG, I3C_DBG, data-filtering.
- Debug & Triage: Lead triage of low-level firmware issues, specifically focusing on the handshake with Intel/AMD/Arm based CPU platforms.
- Standardization: Work closely with ODM/OEM partners to ensure compliance with industry standards such as ACPI, PCIe, and SMBIOS, while driving innovation in Secure Boot and PFR (Platform Firmware Resilience).
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in UEFI firmware development.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ for firmware programming.
- Deep understanding of x86 architecture, ACPI, PCIe, VGA and memory management.
- Experience in Host-to-BMC communication protocols and troubleshooting SMBIOS/ACPI table handoffs for remote management.
- Expertise in hardware-anchored security such as Secure Boot, TPM2.0, NIST SP 800-193, Secure Flash update and firmware integrity checks.
- Hands-on experience with EDK2 firmware development.
- Experience with remote debugging tools and firmware validation methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience developing and maintaining CRB (Customer Reference Board) features for Intel/AMD server platforms.
- Knowledge of Redfish or MCTP/PLDM interactions within the UEFI environment.
- Familiarity with UEFI-level interactions for AI servers.
