About the role

Reporting directly to the General Manager (MENAT, Pakistan), this role holds leadership responsibility for business operations in Pakistan. The Business Unit Director Pakistan leads the commercial organization directly, including Sales and Customer Services, while providing cross-functional leadership across Operations, Finance, IT, and HR/IR/Admin to drive financial performance, operational productivity, and long-term strategic transformation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Workplace Status: On-site in Karachi, Pakistan.

  • Lead the business leadership team in exceeding strategic and operational performance metrics, including full P&L oversight in coordination with the General Manager.

  • Achieve maximum operational productivity to ensure the business optimizes cost structures and maximizes value.

  • Implement long-term footprint, sales, and marketing strategies aimed at driving market share and profitability locally and globally.

  • Translate market trends, competitive intelligence, and customer needs into actionable business goals that create sustainable competitive advantages.

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team by acquiring top talent, establishing career development plans, and coaching teams toward short- and long-term business goals.

  • Analyze and manage sales and marketing budgets while effectively collaborating across internal divisions and product line teams.

  • Direct and oversee technical support initiatives for new markets and specialty business development.

  • Perform general management duties concerning team performance appraisals, talent development, succession planning, and resource allocation.

  • Manage organizational change effectively within a dynamic, competitive market while establishing frameworks for sharing best practices.

  • Act as an organizational change agent and role model, modeling Avery Dennison’s Code of Business Ethics and Values.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of related business experience with an emphasis on sales, business development, and marketing.

  • 10+ years of management experience required, with cross-functional management experience preferred.

  • Proven track record in senior leadership positions within multinational corporations; international exposure is preferred.

  • Advanced business and financial acumen with strong experience negotiating major commercial contracts.

  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-regional projects and strategic organizational initiatives.

  • Skilled in coaching and building advanced sales, commercial, and negotiation capabilities within teams.

  • Deep understanding of technical and product information, with relevant industry background.

  • Strong expertise in forecasting, strategic planning, market research, and account penetration strategies.

  • Outstanding organizational, project management, and English communication and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to champion new business ventures and communicate complex business topics across all levels of management.
