Job Description
The Coating Process Technician role is focused on the supporting business objectives through troubleshooting and
optimization of coating processes. This role will work cross-functionally within Operations, Quality, Process
Engineering and Maintenance in projects. The coating process technician will develop and implement
production/processing methods and controls to meet safety and quality standards in the most cost efficient
manner. The ability to work cross-functionally while influencing others along with a working knowledge of the LPM
and Graphics businesses are key to the role.
In your role as Coating Process Technician, delivering on these responsibilities is critical to success
Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide technical support to the process and operations teams by developing standardized work processes
and procedures in order to optimize equipment performance.
• Provide support to the quality group by managing the hold roll investigation/disposition process, investigating
quality alerts and complaints, and gathering data for raw material issues. This includes gathering physical
product samples, analyzing machine feedback and quality data, inspecting material on hold for defects,
dispositioning hold material, and communicating findings to quality, engineering, and operations team
members.
• Lead machine health assessments through activities such as troughing audits, nip impressions, and
coatweight and moisture gauge calibrations.
• Lead adhesive die preventive maintenance program within assigned assets.
• Perform adhesive die maintenance activities as specified for assigned assets. Verify working condition of
adhesive dies.
• Provide hands-on adhesive die training to operations team members.
• Coordinate and lead continuous improvements projects on the equipment.
• Actively participate in projects within assigned assets.
• Collaborate with maintenance and quality on cross functional initiatives.
• Lead process roll program. Manage inventory of process rolls and ensure availability of replacement rolls.
• Act as a mentor and provide process related training to the operations teams.
• Actively participate in process troubleshooting efforts.
• Fill in as the first point of contact onsite when the process engineer is unavailable.
• Enhance technical ability to develop into a backup for the Process Engineering team and provide process
support for the Operations teams as needed
Qualifications

Education:
• Associate’s or Bachelors Degree in technical field preferred; Demonstrated experience and technical
expertise in Coating Department may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
• 3-5 years relevant manufacturing experience with focus in coating activities.
Other:
• Ability to understand what customer’s value and to identify/execute quality strategies that enhance the
division’s capabilities to deliver that value.
• Develop innovative solutions for process issues.
• Good organization skills and attention to detail.
• Work with quantitative analysis and models for decision making and problem solving.
• Ability to champion and manage projects.
• Self directed and results driven individual.
• Experience with six sigma and lean manufacturing.
• Experience supporting formal problem solving methods.
• Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to interface with cross functional teams to solve problems, define and execute overall requirements.
• Experience in working with team based organization
• Experience working in ISO certified organizatio
