Job Description
Join the New Product Development team at Avery Dennison to design and scale the next generation of portable and industrial thermal barcode printers, RFID technology, and wireless solutions. You will own the lifecycle of novel products from initial concept through mass production, driving top-line growth through technical innovation.
Core Responsibilities
Product Design & Strategy
Lead end-to-end electrical design, including conceptualization, architectural planning, and design reviews.
Leverage internal and external subject matter experts to execute strategic technical goals.
Stay current on emerging technologies and competitive intellectual property to maintain market leadership.
Technical Execution & Troubleshooting
Apply methodical problem-solving (experiments, mental models, and test tools) to resolve design and material constraints.
Support existing product lines by resolving manufacturing yield issues and addressing field quality concerns.
Evaluate and validate alternative electronic components to mitigate supply chain and obsolescence risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with manufacturing, marketing, and corporate technical teams to meet project milestones.
Communicate technical analysis and project status effectively across diverse global functions.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience: 3+ years in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Mixed Signal Circuit Design.
Soft Skills: Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently while actively fostering a collaborative team environment.
Analytical Skills: Proven ability to apply engineering analysis tools and best practices to complex circuit designs.
Technical Mastery: Proficient in circuit instrumentation and troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, data collectors, and spectrum analyzers.
Design Tools: Experience with circuit modeling and simulation (LTSpice, TINA, etc.).
Preferred Expertise
Schematic capture and PCB layout using Mentor Graphics.
Working knowledge of RFID, SPI, I2C, WiFi, USB, and power circuits.
Familiarity with precision motor drive circuits or thermal printhead control logic.
Experience navigating EMC and Safety regulatory approvals.
