Job Description

Primary Contacts

Direct reports of this role, Director of GTS and its peers, GTS Management, Security Leads, Other functional and product group leaders. BU Executives, Managers and Directors of other IT departments, PMO Office, Other functional and product group leaders, vendors and technology leaders in other companies

Position Summary

  • Participate in the strategy, design, and implementation of manufacturing applications and infrastructure solutions across regions of responsibility.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to business stakeholders on technology-related matters. 
  • Develops and champions innovative solutions that align with business needs and adhere to established policies. 
  • Plays a key role in the BCP infrastructure team, driving continuous improvement and risk mitigation initiatives. 
  • Collaborates closely with Zone Managers, Site Coordinators, and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful execution.

Core tasks and key responsibility:

  • Leads the development and implementation of strategies for maintaining highly available and secure manufacturing systems infrastructure. 
  • Provides expert-level support and guidance on complex technical issues. 
  • Drives the lifecycle management of OT infrastructure and manufacturing applications, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and business needs. 
  • Proactively identifies and evaluates new technologies and solutions to enhance operational efficiency and security. 
  • Oversees the execution of disaster recovery plans and ensures business continuity. 
  • Leads and mentors a team of technical professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
  • Has expertise for the maintenance of systems infrastructure and recovery methods for systems running MS Windows, VMware, LAN devices, and applications process.  MS SQL, Databases, and OT hardware and software knowledge is a plus.
  • Keeps up to date with corporate IT (security & privacy o.a.) regulations and applies where appropriate
  • Executes configuration and capacity management of IT/OT infrastructure
  • Design and maintains infrastructure for automated monitoring or procedures for manual monitoring
  • Instructs outsource partner (TCS) as part of change management

Essential Job Responsibilities or Primary Job Responsibilities?

  • Leads the development and implementation of technical support strategies for engineering and maintenance teams across the regional responsibilities. 
  • Provides expert-level guidance and mentorship on complex technical issues. 
  • Oversees the delivery of emergency support to business and operating units, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. 
  • Leads and manages a team of technical professionals, providing direction and support on critical projects. 
  • Collaborates with global counterparts to share best practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Providing technical support to local engineering and maintenance teams - - firefights, problem resolution, training
  • Emergency support for business and operating units
  • On call support in shift during business hours or non-business hours, last through a reachability agreement ( Under the Manufacturing FIT structure)
  • Help other regions where ( Americas / Asia / EMEA ) needed.
  • International Travel necessary, passport required, US VISA preferred for non US candidates. 

Core competencies and abilities

  • Demonstrates expert-level knowledge of Cisco networking technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, OSI model, and NAT. 
  • Possesses in-depth understanding of Windows server and desktop operating systems. 
  • Holds or will obtain relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+,  Security+, and CCNA plus Advance awareness of TCP/IP
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of Industry 4.0 standards and their practical applications.
  • Exhibits expertise in working with OT devices from various vendors, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, and MES systems. Proficient in using diagramming tools such as Visio or draw.io to create and maintain network documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Proven track record of leading and managing technical teams in complex, fast-paced environments. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative solutions that drive business value.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Fluency in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese is a plus.
