Job Description

As the  Sr HR Generalist for Identification Solutions, you will play a key role in partnering with leaders from various functions to ensure we have the right talent and capabilities in place for our business to succeed.  You will drive initiatives to enhance employee engagement, strengthen performance management, and accelerate employee development. 

Recruiting Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for hourly positions including: sourcing and phone screening, providing guidance on the selection of candidates, process offers and pre-employment steps, as required
  • Partner with the North American Human Resources team to plan for hiring needs, build recruitment strategies and continuously improve hiring processes.
  • Benchmark and enhance recruiting processes to ensure an outstanding applicant experience
  • Ensure a positive candidate and hiring team experience by providing timely feedback and consistent communication throughout the process
  • Establish proactive recruitment strategies that will enable us to develop a pipeline of future talent

Generalist Responsibilities

  • Ensure awareness of and adherence to Avery Dennison’s values and ethics, fostering a positive work environment for all employees
  • Develop, launch, and refine a range of HR initiatives including engagement, team building, organizational development as well as  diversity, equity & inclusion.
  • Coordinate and manage the new hire orientation program including onboarding sessions for new hires
  • Handle the employee exit process including communications with the management team, communication with existing employee, collection of assets, and notifying appropriate departments.
  • Support immigration paperwork and procedures with our vendor, Fragomen, for U.S. employees on a visa status.
  • Manage reporting and metrics for U.S. employees, i.e. female diversity, voluntary turnover, etc.
  • May assist with employee relations, investigations, and compensation planning.
  • Support budget planning and tracking
  • Support and/or lead HR projects, as needed

Qualifications

What we are looking for in you

  • Bachelor's Degree required with 7+ years of solid experience as a generalist or business partner
  • SPHR or SHRM-SCP desired
  • Ability to apply knowledge of workforce planning, talent management/development and organizational change management
  • Creative recruitment and retention strategy specialist
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills – must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships and have the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels within the organization.
  • Well developed analytical, problem solving and decision making skills 
  • Experience benchmarking, researching and implementing best practices
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Passion for diversity, wellbeing, and employee engagement
  • Ability to learn quickly and have a passion for excellence, bias for action
  • Understanding of business issues, HR fundamentals, metrics, and customer value
