Job Description

Avery Dennison’s Global Communications team is looking for a skilled internal communicator who understands the needs of employee audiences and is adept at developing communications campaigns to engage and advise our teams.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Communications, the person in this full-time remote position will manage various communications activities for internal corporate functions, including primarily IT as well as HR, Legal and Finance, with a dotted line reporting relationship to Senior Manager, Global Communications. Responsibilities include communications planning, storytelling, engagement campaigns, and change management (particularly as related to internal systems).

Responsibilities:

  • Write, edit, be responsible for creative/design and deliver various communications materials, including news and stories, FAQs, video scripts, quick reference sheets, web content, community posts, and presentations.
  • Develop and execute communications and change management programs to build awareness, adoption and optimize the use of digital workplace tools and new technologies, like Generative Artificial Intelligence, to increase productivity and collaboration among global Avery Dennison employees.
  • Lead IT workstream communications efforts for Mergers and Acquisitions to ensure smooth transition and integration of internal technology systems.
  • Work independently with functional partners and project teams to assess communication needs, provide recommendations and implement compelling and engaging employee communications.
  • Lead planning for company newsletter, global values and ethics communication program, and employee engagement activities across various functions.
  • Improve presence on the intranet portal by crafting compelling content for employees on digital tools and IT/functional initiatives.

Pay Range: $70,050-$104,608

The hiring [base salary / wage rate] range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool. Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years relevant experience, including experience in corporate communications and/or public relations, journalism or change management.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with IT and/or internal communications is preferred.
  • Understanding of digital workspace collaboration systems, such as Google Apps and digital tools.

Other:

  • Experienced in working with a variety of partners across functional areas.
  • Passionate about how digital technologies and tools can improve the employee experience.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, including the ability to translate complex or technical subjects into user-friendly topics.
  • Ability to work independently using a problem-solving and solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and quickly change direction.
  • Creative, visual storytelling and video editing skills are preferred.
