Job Description
SUMMARY: ELS & Quality project leader will develop, maintain, and ensure compliance with quality assurance programs, policies, and processes. The incumbent is a Lean/Six Sigma expert, who uses the tools of Lean/Six Sigma to identify opportunities at the site or within a functional area to improve business results and drive continuous improvement. Responsible for interpreting policies and regulatory/global ops regulations to ensure compliance. Will work directly with the operating areas to assist or complete inspections, process control analysis, and audits as required. The individual will manage manufacturing and service functions to establish quality and ELS standards and improvements for raw material, work in process, and finished products.
REPRESENTATIVE ACTIVITIES: Activities and duties will vary depending upon functional area assigned. Activities may include, but are not limited to:
General
- Develop, manage and execute appropriate business plans/multi-generation product plans to identify trends and opportunities for marketplace advantage and new ideas for products, processes and services.
- Execute the most diverse, complex and difficult projects or tasks within guidelines of policies and procedures.
- Analyze supply chain and help identify projects or process changes.
- Identify, direct and lead ISO, continuous improvement, and quality assurance projects and activities to improve process consistency/layout/flow, reduce costs, remove barriers, and increase the quality and output of the end product.
- Develop, analyze, and manage quality expenses.
- Provide project management and technical leadership within cross-functional teams, including local and/or global quality and ELS teams.
- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers.
- Responsible for clear, focused leadership to further reduce the barriers to delivering competitive advantage via global size and scale.
- Documents results, researches, interprets, and tests methods to satisfy and develop objectives. Writes technical summaries.
- Develop quality Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures (OGSM) for assigned area and confirm linkage to global business strategies.
- Use the Value Stream Map to establish the baseline process and measure progress.
- Track and report metrics, results, and issues to Manager.
- Lead benchmarking of quality and process and related topics in support of divisional goals.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty or equivalent experience preferred
- Senior specialist level position.
- 8+ years related experience
- Strong engineering knowledge in specialty.
- Proven experience in completing difficult technical assignments without immediate supervision; analyzing complex data and preparing effective reports and recommendations.
- Skilled in running and designing modified projects as needed.
- Possesses vertical development of proficiencies in many different areas.
- Skilled in defining and articulating clear direction for work unit and in motivating team to achieve objectives.
- Able to communicate best practices through basic training of others and investigating new methods.
- Understanding of computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes and function specific software.
- Good supervisory and lead skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written skills.
- Skilled in interfacing effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
- Good project management skills.
