Job Description

We are currently recruiting a Project Engineer to join our Engineering Department. The candidate will form part of a newly established PMO team and report to the Project Manager. The Project Engineer will be responsible for executing projects for the site. The project engineer will also be tasked with execution of strategic CAPEX projects and process improvements. The project engineer will work with cross functional teams leveraging their knowledge to ensure success.

Avery Dennison Medical manufacturing processes include rotary die cutting & converting; extrusion; liquid filling into tubes, sachets & bottles; thermal sealing; ultrasonic & RF welding; coating; lamination; packaging and printing.

Main Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Accountable for developing and managing planning, prioritisation and communication for projects across the site including metrics.
  • Ensures effective and efficient regular formal and informal communications with the various project teams and management
  • Develops technical solutions to complex problems across a diverse scope where analysis of a situation or data is required to identify the route cause
  • Ensures that the appropriate resources are allocated for the project and they meet their deliverables.
  • Executing project plans and ensuring adherence to plans and budgets
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract.
  • Ensure best practice project management practices are utilised across the site and practices are continuously improved

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Minimum a Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, process or biomedical).
  • Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Green Belt / structured problem solving is a plus.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years proven experience working in a structured project management team in a manufacturing environment, including process Improvements and Validations.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a member of a cross-functional Core Team 
  • Project management and prioritisation
  • Generating machine specifications (URS), test protocols, and test reports (FAT,SAT,IQ,OQ).
  • Hands on ability to analyse and solve complex problems
  • Knowledge of lean tools and DMAIC process would be an advantage
  • Experience managing suppliers for equipment development and manufacture
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in cross-functional team environments
  • Knowledge of medical device manufacturing & GMP environment
