Job Description
As a Strategy and M&A Manager, you will be responsible for supporting key strategic initiatives within Avery Dennison’s Solutions' Group business, and have primary responsibility for conducting market and business analysis for different strategic initiatives. These include supporting the annual strategic planning process and the M&A and venture activity; assessing new segments, market and product opportunities, key strategic alliances and joint initiatives with partners; and segment growth initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assess the business ecosystem, including industry trends, growth drivers, competitive dynamics, and revenue and profit pools, and develop strategic implications and recommendations for the overall strategy and solution roadmap.
- Conduct rigorous market/competitive analysis and valuation/modeling work to provide detailed guidance and insight regarding new spaces to enter, companies and potential acquisitions
- Conduct market sizing (calculating TAM & SAM) and market forecast analysis.
- Scan external technology environment for strategic alliances, business partners, potential joint venture partners, ideas, concepts, and support existing strategic partnership activities, such as joint business development activities and key joint projects.
- Perform financial analysis of new business opportunities including sales and market share projections, P&L statements, balance sheets, statement of cash flows, NPV and IRR calculations; carry out sensitivity analysis to identify impact of changes in key hypotheses.
- Partner with senior executives and functional leads to develop business strategies and identify acquisition and investment opportunities that accelerate Avery Dennison’s profitable growth strategies
- Support due diligence and integration efforts for acquisitions, including coordinating cross-functional teams to evaluate targetsstrong use of external sources (such as Euromonitor, Capital IQ, etc.).
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of related experience with similar analytical positions desired, such as top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy or private equity.
- Excellent financial skills, analytical skills, and business acumen.
- Experience in M&A projects
- Excellent understanding of product and technical information.
- Experience in a management consulting or strategic planning role is a plus.
- Experience with B2B technologies is a plus.
