Job Description

This role will be responsible for the repair, upkeep, and technical improvement of industrial equipment and the facility. 

This is a 2nd shift position with working hours from 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM Monday through Friday.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to plant safety by strictly adhering to safety policies and industry best practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Diagnose equipment breakdowns to identify the root cause of the issue and restore flow. 
  • Complete preventative and predictive maintenance to maintain industrial machinery and equipment. 
  • Assist with technical continuous improvements to help the plant achieve its safety, quality, service, and cost goals. 
  • Contribute to the capital improvement plan through all phases of the project lifecycle including initiation, planning, design, preparation, and execution. 
  • Contribute to machine inventory processes including identification and auditing of spare part needs and inventory. 
  • Communicate on a daily basis to align on activities, issues, and support that is needed. 
  • Work as a part of a team while exhibiting professionalism, support, and openness to others ideas. 

Qualifications

  • Must regard safety as a core value; must serve as role model for other employees and encourage adherence to safety practices, policies and procedures. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years in an industrial setting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office or equivalent. 
  • Must be able and willing to work overtime, including short-notice requests, to support plant needs. 
  • Must be able to lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Self-motivated with a sense of urgency.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on service and quality. 
  • Desire to expand knowledge and skills through on-the-job training and/or formal training. 
  • Willingness to share knowledge with peers and help build team proficiency. 
  • Must be able to actively contribute in a team-based environment with professionalism and openness to other people’s ideas. 

Desired

  • Minimum of 3 years verifiable overall maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to use industry standard tools to troubleshoot, repair, and improve mechanical systems such as:
    • Power transmission systems
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Mechanical assemblies and systems
    • Plant utility systems such as HVAC, plumbing, compressors, boilers, chillers, and carpentry
    • Industrial machines
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings in both 2D and 3D formats.
  • Ability to use Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor is a plus. 
  • Ability to use industry standard tools and techniques to troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical systems such as: 
    • AC and DC motors and drives
    • Electrical power supply systems including fuses, circuit breakers, relays, and starters 
    • Electrical field devices including analog and discrete systems
    • Communication systems
    • Safety and process permissives
    • PLC experience is a plus
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and wiring schematics.
  • Formal training and certification in industrial electronics.
