Job Description
The Senior Manager - Digital Products, Apparel role is a strategic role that will be accountable for developing strategies and innovative digital products that have the potential to transform business models and/or build new revenue streams. In doing so, he/she will work with the commercial, business development, innovation and information technology organizations to identify, develop and commercialize solutions that generate revenue and unlock new value creation opportunities for the apparel business. This leader will also need to collaborate with an enterprise-wide team of digital product owners, program managers and technical sales representatives to commercialize digital solutions.. Finally, as a leader with vision, the successful person will also identify technology disruptors and challenge product line leaders to assess digital solutions that may obsolete their solution offering.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Partnering with the Apparel business development and strategic marketing team to identify market drivers and unmet needs for digital products.
- Defining the holistic digital product strategies and priorities for the Apparel division
- Partnering with enterprise-wide digital product owners to define a portfolio of products that unlock new market opportunities around personalization/customization, wearable technology, etc.
- Partnering with our business development and commercial teams, and our pricing organization to develop and deploy new, value-based pricing and business models (e.g. SaaS, subscription services, etc.) for the apparel business.
- Collaborating with our customer-facing organizations to build relationships with senior leaders and decision-makers at our customers’ and prospective customers’ organizations.
- Working within our overall digital transformation strategy to develop and implement change management plans that drive the organizational, behavioral and capability improvements needed to deliver our digital solution goals.
- Developing value propositions and training material for our product portfolio, as well as coordinating product launches with support from Marketing and Communications teams to support go-to-market needs of the commercial organizations.
- Participating in apparel industry organizations and lobbying groups to promote Avery Dennison and our digital products, and serving as Voice of the Customer to internal stakeholders based on industry shifts and market feedback.
- Working with our open innovation and venture teams to identify new technologies and companies with the potential to accelerate our digital product strategy for potential partnership or investment opportunities.
Demonstrating thought leadership on new technology and innovation, including customer engagement on our leadership position in addressing the issues in the apparel industry through our digital strategy.
THE KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES FOR THIS ROLE ARE:

Qualifications
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
● Experience leading a business or product function within a matrix organization with annual turnover >$100 million.
● Prior digital product ownership experience in a highly customized business, including market understanding, product lifecycle management, product line strategy development and execution, innovation roadmap development.
● Entrepreneurial mindset with a genuine desire to win as a team.
● Experience leading agile or hybrid development and commercialization methodologies.
● 10+ years of experience in a digital industry or related field, preferably an organization that has undergone a digital transformation.
● Consistent track record of leading change.
● Experience operating within a complex information technology landscape that is fundamental to the customer experience. Experience in monetizing data, a plus.
● Previous experience with digital workflows and variable data management is highly preferred.
● Team player with passion for team success and ability to thrive in a cross functional organization
● A strong eye for detail throughout the process, execution and delivery
● Excellent communicator, at both internal and customer levels
● International travel is required with this role
● Proficient English
The salary range for this position is $150,000.00 - $199,000.00 / year.
The hiring [base salary / wage rate] range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
