Job Description

The Ink Compounder/Production Operator  will work in our high volume Digital Inks department to support production to multiple dispensing cells. Typical work hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 pm.  

General Operations Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety: Consistently work in a safe manner with regard to self, co-workers, and manufacturing systems. Perform general housekeeping tasks and waste removal within department/group and assists other areas as required.
  • ELS: Continuously review current processes and search out improvement methods to improve product/process quality and reduce waste, rework, and unnecessary work that adds no value to the work or process. Support safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Teamwork: Assist and support other team members in meeting department and site goals. Participate and share in performing all tasks necessary to run the facility. Contribute and participate in team decision making. Provide support in project work and other special requests.
  • Complete batches, following a recipe accurately and in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a safe and clean organized work area (5S)
  • Cleaning of drums & equipment
  • Cleaning of pumps and lines
  • Handling of chemicals in safe and clean manner
  • Communicate any delays or bottlenecks caused by process, quality, or equipment to department supervisor
  • Assist in equipment maintenance activities as needed
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the operations
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Complete performance expectations as outlined in performance review
  • Train as back up for dispensing/packaging, and or lab
  • Tend manual, automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production / processing operation. Set up machine, requiring a high level of precision and the interaction of multiple variables. Load raw material into machine, determine and control the machine cycle, varying and modifying as necessary. Unload finished product.
  • Jobs may be of short, medium or long duration, requiring frequent change in set up and variation in cycle.
  • Adjusts set up and process operations accordingly.
  • Any other duties necessary to complete mixing, packaging and labeling in the Ink department.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work overtime, weekends, and evenings as needed
  • Must have or be able to obtain forklift operator’s license
  • Ability to manage multiple batches at one time
  • Customer focus- Able to satisfy the customers’ needs and wants (internal and external).
