Welcome to Avenues São Paulo! Since our doors opened in August 2018, we've been on a mission to provide a truly transformative educational experience. Through immersive English language learning and dynamic interdisciplinary projects, we prepare our students to become future worldwise leaders uniquely equipped to understand and solve global-scale problems. WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an Interdisciplinary Project English Teacher, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of teachers to design and enact interdisciplinary learning experiences and will:

• Design and facilitate interdisciplinary projects with a team of fellow educators in order to drive deep and lasting learning

• Build a compassionate, inclusive classroom community where every student feels valued, equal, and motivated to engage in challenging academic work.

• Design day-to-day learning that is social, experiential, and authentic

• Differentiate instruction and scaffold activities to meet diverse learning levels, tailored specifically for English Language Learners and native speakers alike.

• Design formal and informal assessments that accurately track progress, fostering reflection and student ownership 

• Facilitate student presentations of learning and Student-Led Conferences (SLCs) with grade level colleagues

• Collaborate constantly with teaching peers to refine curriculum, share observational feedback, and continually deepen student learning.

• Build strong, trust-based relationships with parents and families 

ABOUT YOU

You bring all or most of the following:

• You have an English Language/Literature Degree. 

• Professional fluency in English, with proven experience developing students into passionate, curious, and skillful readers, writers, and communicators.

• Proven ability to design, facilitate, and manage highly effective group dynamics and collaborative learning.

• Familiarity and experience with key practices in reading and writing pedagogy, including peer feedback/workshop models, process driven approaches to writing, literature circles, etc.

• Experience navigating inquiry-based, problem-based, or project-based learning methodologies and designing formal and informal assessments that measure student progress.

• Highly collaborative, adaptive, and reflective. You thrive in a dynamic, feedback-rich environment where iteration is celebrated and teaching is viewed as a collective practice.
