Job Description

As Financial Business Partner, you will be a member of the Business Controlling Team. Your expertise will be crucial in understanding and steering Product Development’s business goals, objectives and business models. This will enable you to link business-critical information to extensive analysis, assembling decision-making insights and outlining possible outcomes aligned with the company’s goals.

You will work both as a sole contributor and team player, while regularly connecting with business partners, such as the Business Area Head, Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Case owners, and fellow Controllers and Accountants. Your financial performance analysis will be vital to the steady improvement of Avaloq’s innovation and profitability. Your ability to understand financial and business information, translate data into decision-taking insights, connect different business perspectives and communicate effectively will be key to support Avaloq’s success story.

Your key tasks

  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting of monthly performance of business area, strategic initiatives and projects
  • Driving periodically project forecasting, coordinating gap analysis and gap-closing process
  • Host performance measuring meetings such as performance and business case reviews
  • Coordinate target setting and budgeting at different hierarchy levels of divisions
  • Review and approval of commercial contracts related to area of responsibility
  • Prepare and implement the material for monthly book closing (accruals, completion degree of projects)
  • Your reporting line is to the Head Business Controlling in Finance

Qualifications

  • Controlling background (i.e. Bachelor Degree Finance, Business Economist)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, i.e. controlling, preferably within the financial industry or IT industry but graduate are welcome too
  • Good know-how in enterprise resource planning system SAP, Power BI and similar
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Office applications and especially with Excel
  • Experience in software development projects (as project controller or project manager is an advantage)
  • High degree of confidence and flair for digital products
  • Exhibit excellent analytical skills, the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
  • High degree of initiative and dependability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • English fluent
