What you will do:

Aspect is a leader in education for children on the autism spectrum. Working at Aspect means you will be supported by a team of passionate professional educators. You will help create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice in autism. Class sizes are small and you always have the assistance of a dedicated teacher aide. You will learn about the ACA which is Aspect's comprehensive approach to the way we support people. You will work closely in a team that includes the student, family, teacher aide and other professionals such as our school psychologist, speech therapists and occupational therapists to develop and deliver quality learning programs. Aspect Central Coast School provides placement for approximately 140 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 18 years from two campuses at Terrigal, as well as from 6 satellite classes within the local Catholic Schools.

Aspect Hunter School provides placement for approximately 200 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 12 at its main school at Thornton, and across its satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Newcastle, Hunter and Port Macquarie regions. Aspect Hunter School also offers a Distance Education program for students on the autism spectrum in years 3 to 8 from across NSW.

Aspect Macarthur School provides placement for approximately 110 students on the autism spectrum from Kindergarten to year 10. Our main site is located at Cobbitty with 6 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in the Macarthur area and another main site school in Coffs Harbour, NSW.

Aspect Riverina School is situated close to cafes in the city centre in a beautiful location with charming buildings and recently renovated facilities. It proudly provides placement for approximately 100 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 17 from Albury, as well as from 4 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Albury and Wagga Wagga.

It has its administration/main campus at Corrimal and 4 satellite sites within the Catholic, Independent and Department of Education schools across the Wollongong and Shellharbour region.

The School’s main sites are at Peakhurst, Marrickville and Loftus and there are 9 satellite classes within Sydney Catholic schools and Department of Education schools across the South East Sydney region of Sydney.

Aspect Vern Barnett School provides placement for approximately 120 students on the autism spectrum from ages 4 to 16 years from Forestville, as well as from 5 satellite classes within the Catholic and Department of Education schools in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

What we are looking for:

• NESA registration to teach in NSW
• Special Education qualifications are preferred
• Experience working with students on the autism spectrum or with other intellectual disability (desirable)
• NSW Working with Children Check clearance for paid employment
• Depending on the school's location/requirements it may be essential to have a current driver's licence
• A Light Rigid (LR) driver's licence (desirable)
• You may be required to provide an international police clearance

This position is covered by the INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS NSW TEACHERS (HYBRID MODEL) MULTI-ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021.
