Job Description

Mission

Lead the strategic integration of AUMOVIO / Automotive / BAs throughout the plant organization while driving operational excellence across Quality, Cost, Assets, and Delivery (QCAD). 
Coordinate cross-functional activities and optimize plant efficiency to consistently achieve and exceed performance targets.
Build, coach, and retain a high-performing, diverse team committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
Champion a culture of safety, security, environmental and corporate social responsibility in all aspects of plant operations.

Main Responsibilities

  • Own plant P&L and budget with full accountability for revenue, EBIT/EBITDA, productivity, cost optimization, and working capital performance
  • Drive profitability and sustainable growth through disciplined investment management and capital expenditure decisions
  • Translate corporate and Business Area strategic objectives into actionable plant-level strategies that drive customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitability
  • Lead the implementation of the Technology Roadmap, driving capacity expansion, manufacturing innovation, and production capabilities aligned with Business Area strategies and Industry 4.0 standards
  • Champion quality excellence by establishing, implementing, and continuously improving robust quality standards, processes, and a zero-defect culture across all operations
  • Build organizational capability through strategic workforce planning, continuous competency development, and knowledge management programs
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture by investing in leadership development, succession planning, and talent retention initiatives that support long-term organizational growth
  • Represent AUMOVIO in industry committees, local associations, and community forums, advancing the company's interests and corporate social responsibility commitments
  • Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, environmental, and internal governance requirements, maintaining the highest standards of corporate integrity

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Management, or related discipline.
  • MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred; Executive education in leadership, strategy, or operations management is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior plant management role (Plant Manager, Operations Director, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in automotive, mobility, or Tier 1/Tier 2 supplier environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing full P&L responsibility with measurable impact on profitability and cost optimization.
  • Strong command of IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and automotive quality standards.
  • Solid understanding of legal, regulatory, and corporate governance requirements, being familiarity with environmental regulations, energy management, waste reduction, and corporate sustainability frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of Portuguese corporate, commercial, financial, and tax regulations applicable to manufacturing operations, including investment incentives and government programs.
  • Basic knowledge of Portuguese employment regulations, collective agreements, and workforce management requirements, having the ability to navigate industrial relations and maintain constructive relationships with unions and labor authorities.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational transformation and navigate complex business challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels—from shop floor to boardroom.
  • Portuguese: Fluent / Native-level proficiency (spoken and written).
  • English: Fluent business proficiency (spoken and written).
  • Additional European languages (particularly German) are considered a strong advantage.
